Reduce Your Risk of Developing Varicose Veins

Tips also ease discomfort from ones you already have

Not all varicose veins can be prevented. However, the followings tips can reduce your chances of developing new varicose veins and can ease discomfort from ones you already have:

  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Exercise
  • Sit without your legs crossed
  • Elevate your legs above heart level when resting
  • Avoid sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Avoid tight clothing that constricts your waist, groin or legs
  • Wear support stockings
  • Eat a low-salt diet rich in high-fiber foods
