- Sit without your legs crossed
- Elevate your legs above heart level when resting
- Avoid sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Avoid tight clothing that constricts your waist, groin or legs
- Wear support stockings
- Eat a low-salt diet rich in high-fiber foods
